EU unveils bank reform
Banks will be more closely scrutinized under European Union plans unveiled yesterday to apply lessons from the credit crunch and better protect investors hit by the worst financial crisis in decades. Britain has already signaled unease with the plan, fearing a loss of regulatory sovereignty.
The Commission proposed setting up two pan-EU bodies.
