LONDON: Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Europe's biggest oil company, said Linda Cook, who was passed over for the top job, is resigning as head of the gas and power division.
Cook, 50, had been in the running for the chief executive officer post which was taken by Chief Financial Officer Peter Voser.
It was the first time in Shell's 101-year history that the top job went to a national from outside the UK or the Netherlands.
