5 years later, elderly man removes leech from nose

A 73-year-old man who suffered nasal congestion and nosebleeds for more than five years is recovering after doctors removed a 10 cm long leech from his nose in Gaozhou, Guangdong province.

The man surnamed Fu, a barefoot doctor from a rural village, visited the hospital last week after he experienced nosebleeds 10 days in a row.

Fu believed the leech lived in his nose for five years because he suffered the same symptoms for five years.

The leech possibly went into his nose five years ago after he drank water from a mountain stream while collecting herbs.

Woman can walk again after five-year paralysis

A woman in Haikou, capital of Hainan province, who was paralyzed for five years, is now able to walk again and many people believe it's because of her husband's undying loyalty to her.

Cai Xiuzhen became a paralytic after she contracted cerebral thrombus in 2003. Cai's husband Xue Deshan stood by her and provided physiotherapy.

Xue also purchased an electric vehicle and took Cai to local parks and scenic spots.

Woman delivers baby, gets operation in taxi

A pregnant expat in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, delivered inside a taxi on Thursday and was in stable condition after emergency surgery.

The woman, 40, suffered massive hemorrhage before her cab pulled in directly to the emergency area of the hospital.

Doctors asked the driver surnamed Wei to drive to the emergency room on the ground floor and they operated in the taxi for an hour.

The Middle Eastern woman and her baby were recovering well.
