1/3 MPs face charges

Almost one-third of the members elected to India's new parliament face criminal charges ranging from trespassing to murder, a study has revealed.

The report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) said that 153 of the 543 newly elected MPs have criminal cases pending against them, with 74 of them facing serious accusations including robbery and murder.
