Corrupt official sacked
A 45-year-old senior official from Shanxi, who embezzled 35 million yuan ($5.1 million) worth of funds for infrastructure projects, was yesterday removed of his Party and official positions. Sun Tingrong, who is the deputy director of the Shanxi water resources department, had accepted nearly 3 million yuan and a luxurious car in bribes.
