Thyroid week from May 25

The first International Thyroid Awareness Week, aimed at educating people about thyroid glands, is scheduled to begin on May 25 in Shanghai, it was announced yesterday.

"Thyroid problems can easily be confused with other conditions, delaying essential diagnosis and treatment. There are more than 300 millions of people across the world who may be suffering needlessly while about half of them are unaware of the symptoms or impact of thyroid problems," said Ning Guang, endocrinology professor and vice president of Ruijin Hospital.
