China Open steals show in Madrid

The China Open Tennis Tournament was thrust into the spotlight during the final day of the Madrid Open on Sunday.

At the awards ceremony for the "Starry China Open, Charming Beijing" photography competition launched last month to promote the Beijing event, two snap-happy Spanish tennis fans received tickets to Beijing and the newly upgraded October tournament from organizers and the Beijing Tourism Bureau.

The promotion attracted hordes of international journalists who were reporting the Madrid Open.
