Star Trek

China Daily | Updated: 2009-05-16 07:57

Through sophisticated pyrotechnics, three-dimensional characters and the wonder of cinematic spectacle, the latest Star Trek film puts a fresh spin on the familiarity of where it all began with rogue Romulan commander Nero (played by Eric Bana) bent on exacting revenge on Spock (Leonard Nimoy).

Director JJ Abrams captures the essence of the original while allowing the big-screen version to expand in new and thrilling directions. Screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman keep audiences on the edge of their seats from the opening scene when Nero travels back in time to destroy USS Kelvin.
