At a time when the pioneers of Chinese rock were setting stages aflame with their heavy metal power, the four young men who comprise the initial line-up of the band Convenience Store (pictured right), were still in primary school.
The 1990s garage wave, epitomized by Nirvana and Brit-pop, led Guo Shuo, De Heng, Zhang Weilin and Mu Jinjing into new territory.
The band enlisted guitarist Du Wei in 2001 to enrich their sound texture. Soon after, Lang Lei also joined, giving the band its distinctive three guitarist lineup.
