Robber holds staff, held
Police overpowered and detained an armed assailant who had held more than a dozen people hostage in an attempted bank robbery in western Turkey yesterday, state-run Anatolian news agency reported.
It said health workers had entered the bank in the Aegean tourist resort of Kusadasi to tend to nine of the hostages.
