Student confesses he stole laptop to impress girl
A college student who stole a notebook computer to impress his girlfriend for her birthday was spared jail time because he confessed.
Zhang, who is from a poor family in northern Jiangsu province, met the girl at a university in Nanjing. Last October, the girl gave him a new cell phone for his birthday.
