SOEing the seeds of rapid growth

During the recent round of restructuring of China's State-owned enterprises (SOEs), SDIC has inevitably been at the forefront of the process.

Half-jokingly, Wang Huisheng, president of SDIC, said: "We used to be seen as the 'State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission,' (SASAC) in miniature."

Wang's remarks were a direct reference to SDIC's emerging role as the nation's major State assets manager.
