World dance
With a beautiful selection of ethnic costumes, the Brigham Young University's International Folk Dance Ensemble delivers a concert program of various dances from more than a dozen nations, including Ukraine, Russia, South Korea, Poland, Mexico and the United States. Since 1964, the American ensemble has performed at folk dance festivals around the world, highlighting the best of American folk culture.

Thumbelina

Dating my ex
The play is about a man who tries to set his ex-wife up on a date with his best friend and ends up falling in love with her again. Shen Yang
The 25-year-old bass-baritone gives his first recital in Shanghai. Shen is the first Chinese member of the Young Artists Program of the Metropolitan Opera House. The concert also features guest performers from the Met: pianist Ken Noda, Brian Zeger, soprano Erin Morley and mezzo-soprano Julie Boulianne.

Private thoughts
Three artists have come together in a joint exhibition. Liu Chunjie displays satirical wood prints while Zheng Xuewu takes print art to a whole new level, playing freely with various visual elements. Meanwhile, Xie Hongjun presents a series of oil paintings depicting the social realities of China in the 1960s and 70s.

Half-human, half-beast
Using digital technology, the artist behind the show has created half-human, half-bestial creatures dwelling in an unnamed contemporary metropolis. Disturbing and striking, the vivid images showcase the power of digital art through pictures, sculptures and video.

Music to the eyes
Artist Li Lei, also the director of the Shanghai Art Museum, presents his latest collection of 26 paintings. With a focus on abstract art with Oriental aesthetics, his recent work is expected to show audiences how art can also be lyrical in context - like music to the eyes.

Antique furniture
