Innocence revisited

A Mother's Day party at an art gallery in Beijing's Chaoyang district today will, naturally enough, have a children's theme. Dandeli Art Space will present a series of "child-like" works from a group of Chinese artists born in the 1960s and 70s.
The naive style of these works is intended to convey the feeling of a generation of artists, who grew up during a time of intense changes during reform and opening up 30 years ago.
"Their paintings convey the questions their generation had about self identity, their hopes and despairs," say organizers.
