Prison protests suspended

Labor unions representing French prison workers say they have suspended their protest and are examining a possible deal with the government to create more jobs.

Two of the main unions hammered out the deal, which calls for the creation of 174 extra prison jobs, in overnight negotiations yesterday with the Justice Ministry.
