KMT chief in mainland trip

Taiwan's ruling Kuomintang (KMT) Chairman Wu Poh-hsiung will visit the mainland twice between May and July to further cement cross-Straits ties, Taiwan-based Central News Agency reported on Wednesday.

Wu will lead a KMT delegation this month to Nanjing and attend a ceremony on June 1 to mark the 80th anniversary of the burial of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding chairman of the KMT. Meanwhile, the KMT said Wu will also lead party officials to the mainland in mid-July for a forum with the Communist Party of China.
