Antiviral drug to get fast approval

New anti-viral drugs would undergo a fast-tracked examination and registration process in the event of an A(H1N1) outbreak, it has been revealed.

The State Food and Drug Administration established on Monday an expert team to improve the efficiency of the medicine approval process.

"These procedures would be for the registration of new drugs only when public health is threatened by an epidemic," said spokeswoman Yan Jiangying.
