Asthma rates continue to rise

The number of asthma sufferers in China has been increasing for 20 years, the Chinese Asthma Alliance said yesterday.

Lin Jiangtao, CAA director, did not reveal the rate of the increase, but said about 95 per cent had not received appropriate treatment.

This was because of poverty, insufficient medical service, illegal medical practices and fake drugs, he said.
