Bomb hoax clears store

A Wal-Mart supermarket in southwest China was evacuated yesterday after a hoax bomb threat. A receptionist in the Daguan store in Kunming, the provincial capital, received a call at 8:58 am from a person who demanded money and claimed a bomb was planted in the store, said a public security bureau spokesman.

Police searched the store and had evacuated all customers and staff by 9:40 am, said the spokesman.
