Miners trapped by flood
Five workers were yesterday trapped after a gold mine flooded in the city of Beipiao, the provincial work safety administration said.
The accident happened at the Pingfang Mine at 12:20 am and initial investigations by the Liaoning Gold Administration suggest it was caused when workers mistakenly dug through a discarded shaft, an official said.
