MEXICO CITY: "We're bored to death and we're frightened," said 14-year-old Fernanda Cortes, a Mexico City resident stuck at home amid an outbreak of deadly flu that has shaken up family life here.
Like millions of Mexicans, the Cortes family has heeded government advice to hunker down at home over a long holiday weekend for fear of catching H1N1 swine flu.
Four generations were packed into a small house near a tangle of noisy roads in the working class district of Ttlacotal on the outskirts of the sprawling capital of some 20 million.
