Suspect wants to stroll

The only surviving suspected gunman in last year's Mumbai terrorist attacks asked a judge yesterday for permission to take walks outside his prison cell.

Prosecutors say Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, a Pakistani, was one of 10 attackers responsible for killing 166 people and wounding 304 more during the three-day siege in November. "I'm going crazy locked up in one room," Kasab told Judge M.L. Tahiliyani, who was presiding over his trial. He said he wanted permission to take a walk in an enclosed corridor outside his cell.
