Post-quake quality tests
Two laboratories charged with checking the quality of reconstruction projects following the May 12 earthquake last year started operations in two of the province's worst-hit cities, Shifang and Dujiangyan, this week, China's Certification and Accreditation Administration said yesterday.
The facilities, which cost a combined 10 million yuan ($1.5 million), test the quality of steel, the compressive strength of concrete and general building structures.
