Shearer admits time running out for Magpies

NEWCASTLE, England: Alan Shearer admitted time was running out for Newcastle in their bid to cling on to their place in the Premier League after the Magpies were denied victory by Portsmouth on Monday.

A goalless draw left the Magpies three points adrift of fourth-from-bottom Hull with just four matches left to stave off relegation and a daunting trip to face title-chasing Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

The trip to Liverpool is followed by home games against fellow relegation candidates Middlesbrough and then Fulham and a final day trip to Aston Villa and Shearer admitted: "We need to get a win. Time is running out, we know it.
