Michelle to unveil activist's statue

Sojourner Truth, a former slave who met US Civil War President Abraham Lincoln and was an early crusader for an end to slavery and the right of women to vote, is becoming the first black woman to be honored with a bust at the US Capitol.

US first lady Michelle Obama and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were yesterday scheduled to take part in unveiling the abolitionist's statue at the Capitol Visitor Center.
