Anti-quake measures taken
China has spent 2 billion yuan ($293 million) in the past seven years to reinforce buildings, bridges, reservoirs and other structures against possible earthquake damage.
This was reported at a national conference on prevention against quake damage in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, last week.
"Life-line" - water and power supply systems, communications centers, silos and hospitals - has been reinforced in major places.
Trademark office set up
The trademark agency of the China Council for Promotion of International Trade has set up an office in Guangzhou Trade Fair Building to offer advise and assistance during the ongoing Guangzhou trade fair.
Lu Pushun, agency attorney, has said foreigners applying for trademark registration or having other trademark concerns should consult the agency.
Since being set up in 1957, the agency has established business ties with trademark and patent firms in more than 90 countries and regions.
