Flower festival blooms

The Xinjiang Yumin mountain flower festival opened yesterday. The annual festival lasts for 100 days, during which visitors from home and abroad can visit the mountainous county. Yumin is in the western part of the Xinjiang Dzungarian Basin and shares a 170-km border with Kazakstan. The county is home to more than 1,000 plant species, including rare varieties like the undomesticated Bailing Mushroom and wild Chinese peony.
