'No news' on Osama may mean good news

China Daily | Updated: 2009-04-28 07:56

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari yesterday said it is likely that Al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden is dead.

In a wide-ranging interview with international media, Zardari spoke about bin Laden, growing Taliban clout in Pakistan, ruled out the possibility of his country's nukes falling in their hands and his own political future.

Zardari said US officials had told him that they had no trace of the Al-Qaida chief and the same view was shared by his own intelligence agencies.
