We should review our way of educating kids when facing criticism of the so-called Chinese mother in US high schools, says an article on the website comment.dbw.cn. Following is an excerpt:

An online discussion on why "Chinese mom" has become a derogatory term has recently attracted wide attention in cyber space. The posting says that Chinese mother is one known for vying with another of her kind, and she is ridiculed by high school students in the US, leaving many Chinese-American students very perturbed.

For long , it was believed that the Chinese mother is the hardest working and most benign mother in the world. So, we simply cannot stand our mothers being blamed. Yet, if we shed those prejudices against skin color and ethnic groups, and objectively review the criticism of the "Chinese mom" by American students, we really can see the difference.
