Suzie's full of surprises

The great thing about Suzie Wong's is not only its status as one of Beijing's premier nightclubs. It isn't even the stack of awards it's racked up year after year since opening in 2002.

No, the biggest fun is the element of surprise - you never quite know who you'll bump into. It could well be one of the bevy of models who frequent the place or company executives out with clients. It could even be a Hollywood celebrity, like three-time Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone, who's among its previous visitors. Of course, it's more likely to be a group of well-heeled locals, either on their way up in life or already there.

Suzie Wong can lay claim to not only pioneering the late-night scene around Chaoyang gate west, but also to being the city's best-known bar. This popularity is no fluke and owes much to the design of a dress-to-impress venue that spreads out over four floors.
