QINGDAO, Shandong: The vast blue sea along the east Qingdao coastline yesterday witnessed the strongest line-up of Chinese naval vessels.

Led by two nuclear-powered submarines in their public debut, a fleet of altogether 25 naval warships and 31 aircraft of the Chinese navy passed by international naval officers, guests and the press at a close range in an intensive 20-minute parade, a core part of the international fleet review marking the 60th anniversary of the navy.

Foreign military delegates observing the parade said they were impressed by the weapon display.
