Wei joins Alibaba

Alibaba.com, the leading B2B e-commerce company in China and one of the largest B2B marketplaces on the Internet, said David Wei has joined the company as president. Wei will be responsible for Alibaba's two B2B marketplaces, Alibaba International and Alibaba China. Collectively the two websites have more than 18 million registered members in over 200 countries and regions.

Wei, the former president of B&Q China, is expected to bring with him solid operational experience and industry expertise and will drive the expansion of Alibaba's business-to-business marketplaces.
