SHANGHAI: Rescuers have found a body believed to be that of a mechanic missing since the helicopter he was on crashed into the sea nine days ago.

The city's public security bureau received a report of a body in a dark-red sports sweater and blue jeans floating near the wharf of a port machinery company at 9 am yesterday.

It was 8 km from where the aircraft crashed on April 12 at midday, just minutes after taking off from China's Antarctic exploration ship, Xuelong.
