Memory traced back through the lens

China: Through the Lens of John Thomson 1868-72, the first exhibition of Scottish photographer John Thomson (1837-1921)'s China photographs opens at the Beijing World Art Museum this week.

It consists of 148 photographs, covering landscapes, people, architecture and street scenes taken in China between 1868 and 1872.

After the Beijing debut, the exhibition will tour to Fujian Museum, Guangzhou Museum and Dongguan Exhibition Center.
