Twins with different parents live side by side

I come from a city that has a twin - literally. The cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh are known as the "twin cities", joined by a man-made lake, the Hussain Sagar. But these are no identical twins. While Hyderabad is steeped in history and bears the unmistakable stamp of its Muslim rulers, its twin was set up as a military station by the British colonialists.
