Express Scripts to buy Wellpoint unit for $4.7b

Express Scripts Inc, the third-largest manager of US drug benefits, agreed to buy Wellpoint Inc's pharmacy-benefit management units for $4.68 billion, gaining about 25 million members.
The purchase of Wellpoint's NextRx units will be financed with cash and stock, Maria Palumbo, a spokeswoman for St. Louis-based Express Scripts, said by telephone yesterday.
The price includes a 10-year contract under which Express Scripts will provide services to Wellpoint, the companies said in a statement.
