Ex-champ Dajka's death saddens cycling fraternity

ADELAIDE, Australia: Cycling Australia chief executive Graham Fredericks wants former world champion Jobie Dajka to be remembered in the wake of his sudden death for his achievements in the sport.

"The Australian cycling community is saddened today to learn of the death of former national representative, Jobie Dajka," Fredericks said on Wednesday. "While his final period with the sport was often troubled, we hope that Jobie will be remembered for his remarkable achievements as one of Australia's best sprint cyclists of the past decade.

"His record as a Junior World Champion, World Champion and Commonwealth Games Champion was indeed, outstanding. Our thoughts and wishes are with his family and friends at this sad time."
