Forest fire in Shenyang

Nearly 5,000 people were mobilized to battle a forest fire on Thursday afternoon in Northeast China's Liaoning province, local authorities said. No casualties have been reported so far.

The fire was spotted at about 3 pm near the Qipanshan tourist area in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning. The blaze was mostly put out by 7 pm as firefighters doused smouldering areas, preventing rekindling, said the information office of Shenyang city government.
