GUANGZHOU: The 16th Asian Games host city is ready for the equestrian event. The local entry and exit inspection authorities have outlined a series of arrangements and emergency plans for horse inspection and quarantine, the Game's organizing committee said yesterday.
"Horse quarantine measures are of great importance to the equestrian event, so far the largest of its kind on the mainland," Zeng Qingchun, deputy director of the external relations and protocol department of the organizing committee, said.
More than 200 horses from about 20 Asian countries and regions will be on show in the riding venues, now under construction in the northern Conghua county, Zeng said.
