Documentary on achievements

The Glorious 60 Years of China (Huihuang Liushinian), a TV documentary on the achievements Chinese people have made since 1949, has been launched in Kunshan, East China's Jiangsu province. With the themes of "splendid landscape", "the revolutionary mecca" and "new looks of urban and rural lands", the documentary involves aerial shooting.

Producer Shi Jian says aerial cinematography provides rich material and special angles for the six-hour film. Shooting took place in Kunshan because it has been a typical example of the rapid economic growth seen in many small towns in China since the reform and opening up in 1978. The documentary, celebrating the 60th birthday of the People's Republic of China, is expected to hit the small screens around the National Day on Oct 1.
