Drugged girls had deformed babies

China Daily | Updated: 2009-04-08 07:48

Ten girls who were heavily sedated while living at a Church of England care home during the 1970s and 80s have had children with birth defects, a BBC investigation has found.

There are now fears hundreds of other girls living in care homes across the country during the same period may be at risk, the corporation said.

The 10 teenagers at Kendall House in Gravesend, Kent, were restrained with large doses of tranquilizers and other drugs, according to Radio 4's Today Program.
