Morocco magic

Without a waiter's help, you may feel quite lost the first time you try to make your way to Fez Bar. To get to the rooftop bar you need to pass Hex bar, and two corridors, before you hit the stairs. Both the bar and corridors are adorned with fancy lights that twinkle and play tricks with your eyes in the all-embracing darkness. As you negotiate your way through, you could well start to feel like you are in a maze.
But Fez is a pleasant surprise. Not because of the counter lights that create an illusion of space by being reflected in the mirror. Nor because of the Marrakech-style deep maroon canvas tents, with soft cushioned sofas or even the sleek looking traditional Moroccan brass lamps.
It is its location, minutes from the Tian'anmen Square, the center of Beijing. That such a cozy place which feels like a scene straight out of The Tales of a Thousand and One Nights, resides right in the heart of the country's political center, is simply amazing.
