China's 'most influential'

Well-known kung fu novelist Louis Cha (pictured) joined 10 others to be honored as the 2008 Worldwide Influential Chinese recently, to thunderous applause at the Centenary Hall of Peking University.

The awards ceremony was appropriately named A Beautiful World because of You. The novelist, who is in his 80s, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award. Other winners include film director Zhang Yimou, Feng Xiaogang, Jet Li, and well-known scientist Qian Xuesen.
