Beijing bucks the trend

Most of the international airports have been witnessing passenger number declines in recent times, but Beijing has been bucking the trend due to the exceptionally strong domestic travel, Australian investment bank Macquarie Group said in a recent report.

In addition, the growth rates are much stronger for hub airports compared with regional destination airports such as Hainan Meilan Airport, an indication that growth in business-air travel is much stronger than that in leisure travel, the report said.
