Welfare aid for new firms

The municipal government will compensate business start-ups for social welfare costs and rent, the city's human resources and social security bureau announced yesterday.

Businesses in their first 18 months, who have hired employees considered "difficult" on contracts of at least a year, can apply for special rebates of up to 2,000 yuan ($300) per year for every recruit.
