Special report: Chinese and US law firms announce strategic alliance

A rising level of business deals between Chinese and American companies has led to two law firms joining forces. The law firms of Watson & Band Law Offices and Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP have formed a strategic alliance to allow them to best serve clients with business interests in China and the US.

The two firms said that they remain separate law firms, but will work together whenever individual clients need access to their partner firm's resources.

George Q. Fu, managing partner of Shanghai-based Watson & Band, said: "We appreciate the opportunity of collaboration with Sutherland. It will further enable us to deliver the best of both our firms to individual clients who are doing business internationally.
