'Scottish dalu mian' on menu after gala program

China Scene: East

A restaurant in Qingdao, Shandong province has added "Scottish dalu mian" to its menu, a fictional dish first served up by some comedians on the recent CCTV Spring Festival Gala.

The real dalu mian, or noodles with gravy, is a common staple dish in Northern China. After the CCTV show, a small restaurant changed the name to the one used in the show.
