Movers and shakers

For the first time, mainland audiences will get to enjoy award-winning dance videos from around the world, thanks to the Jumping Frames Dance Video Festival: Beijing.

As part of the 2009 Croisements Festival, the biennial festival that began in Hong Kong in 2004, aims to facilitate conversation between two established art forms - video and dance. Thirty-seven works from China and abroad will be screened.

The opening clip Coffee With Pina by renowned Israel director Lee Yanor, is a cross between a documentary and video art. It features an intimate dialog the director has with Pina Bausch, a modern dance choreographer from Germany.
