Experimental drama Rhinoceros in Love analyzes the attitude of love among young Chinese people and has been one of the most popular modern productions since its debut in 1999. The latest version employs sensational visual effects, most notably 18,000kg of water being poured over the performers and flooding the stage. The playwright-director couple behind the drama, Liao Yimei and husband Meng Jinghui, have been an influential with their avant-garde style and creativity.
