SAN ANTONIO, Texas: Luis Scola scored the winning layup with 11.2 seconds left to fire the Houston Rockets into first place in the Southwest, knocking the San Antonio Spurs off the top with a 87-85 victory on Sunday.
Yao Ming twice fired passes inside to Scola in the final 30 seconds to push the Rockets a half-game ahead of the Spurs for the division lead.
"I just cut down the lane," Scola, who ended up with 19 points and 17 rebounds, told reporters. "I was wide open both times."
